Celebration Cupcakes

I've got a job!  I started searching the third week of January and I'm starting my new job in the third week of February so I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself!  I decided to take the opportunity of guilt-free free time (no more job hunting for me!) to do my favourite thing- BAKING.  Vanilla cupcakes with vanilla butter cream icing.  Delicious and so pretty.  I used lilac professional icing colour, elible purple glitter, edible white candy butterflys and elible lustre spray (my favourite).  All made in our old Kenwood mixer, my parents wedding present would you believe, but still going strong!  You can always tell when I'm cooking in our house as although it works perfectly it makes a deafening whirr!

Retail Therapy

I needed a new interview outfit so I went shopping at the weekend. I found a nice one in Next for £55 which I was quite happy with, but I just happened to stop into Warehouse and found a much nicer dress for a bargainous £20 reduced from £65! I also found a really pretty silk dress for £30 reduced from £65 and a gorgeous slouchy jumper £20 reduced from £45. Needless to say I bought all three and returned the Next dress. Shockingly shallow but retail therapy makes me so happy! I also bought a gillet from Primark for £10. All in all a successful day!  Also I would definitively recommend the Warehouse sale, lots of bargains still to be found!

Happy Shopping!

Weekend

Had a lovely weekend. Mostly filled with swatting for interviews but with the added perks of croissants, Starbucks and cupcakes! Busy week of interviews coming up so I doubt there will be much blogging. If only I could afford to do it full time. Would be so much fun/the easiest job in the world :).  Hope you had a great weekend, Love Rosie xxx

Keep on Running

So far I have to say my half marathon training isn't going all that well.  On such cold mornings as we have had the past few weeks I find it so hard to get up that extra bit earlier to go for a run before you start your day.  Plus it's no fun running when there is snow and ice on the ground!

Still got to 'Keep on Running' as they say.  I do have my eye on some new kit that I feel would spur me on...  I've never bought anything from the online shop Sweaty Betty but they have loads of good stuff and I am quite tempted!

New Product: Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector

I have a new product to try which I am quite excited about.  The new Miracle Skin Perfector, Daily All in One B.B. Cream from Garnier.  So what is it?  Well it claims to be the latest in beauty secrets.  It can be used on its own as a tinted moisturiser or as a primer and worn for any occasion, even apparently the gym...  It contains mineral pigments that apparently gives a sheer coverage, sinking into the skin easily to blur imperfections and soften lines.  It also claims to moisturise for up to 24 hours and contains SPF 15 to help protect the skin.

The exciting part, however, is in my opinion the B.B. bit.  B.B. stands for Blemish Balm, a hybrid of products that combines the benefits of skin care and make up in one.  Developed by a German dermatologist in the 1950's they were made famous in South Korea by an actress known for her flawless skin.  Since then they have been a cult product used across Asia because of their flawless finish and "all-in-one" properties.

Now this sounds PERFECT for me.  I don't like wearing moisturiser on my face in the day, just as I don't like wearing foundation except for special occasions.  I find them both quite heavy on my skin, which is combination skin and can be prone to blemishes if I use heavy moisturisers or foundations.  Having said this I have started wearing moisturiser at night (I never used to use any at all!) for fear of wrinkles and I have also taken to wearing eye cream day and night.  I smile a lot 'with my eyes' as Tyra Banks says so am likely to have EAGLE feet as opposed to crows feet.  Joy.

So because of this fear I have also been searching for a day moisturiser and this cream sounds like it is perfect for me.  Moisturising but light, coverage but sheer and best of all, good for your skin.  Watch this space for a product review!
